A safety company that started at sea, not behind a desk.
Safety Motivator was founded by a master mariner with more than forty years at sea. The idea took shape during a routine fire drill, when it became clear that the information a crew relies on in an emergency was scattered across binders, notice boards and memory.
We build the tool we wished we’d had on watch. One place that holds every location, instruction and procedure a seafarer needs to work safely and compliantly on any vessel. No stack of folders, no guesswork, just the right information the moment it counts.

Our story
From Experience Comes Better Safety
Safety Motivator was created to simplify the current processes in place for the safety familiarisation tours conducted for seafarers. Our CEO worked as an seafarer for over forty years, and the initial inspiration occurred when conducting a fire safety drill as a crew member.
The original concept was to provide multiple folders containing the necessary information for the specific location (i.e the gallery). The information would include the locations of equipment, instructions information etc. The concept evolved into a much easier methodology, providing each crew member with an account for an application which housed all of the information mentioned above, in one place.
The team insists that a modernised revamp of the current processes presently in place is required. By eliminating the current paper-based processes it will be possible to speed up internal processes and workflows.
As an seafarer, our CEO considers that Health & Safety is of the utmost priority when working on any vessel.

We want safety familiarisation to be the clearest part of the job, not the most confusing.
The current antediluvian system relies on crew members being aware of the location of all emergency equipment at all times. In today’s working environment, that assumption no longer holds.
